Fifteen middle school students are happily attending a summer camp by the sea, until one of the children leads the group into a cave that will drastically alter the course of their lives forever. Inside are several computers, along with a man named Kokopelli who offers the students a chance to play a game: one where they use a gigantic robot to defeat enemies who attack the Earth. The children agree to sign a contract by touching a shield-like object, and Kokopelli transports them to the cockpit of the Zearth—the mecha they are to pilot.
After an enemy mecha rises from the sea, Kokopelli shows them how to mentally control the Zearth, and defeats it. The children are excited by the prospect of defending the Earth, but not everything is as it seems. The Zearth is in fact powered by life energy, and at the end of every battle, the pilots die. After signing their lives away, the children must now use their time left on Earth to defend it.

Dragon Ball has become one of the most successful manga series of all time, with over 230 million copies sold worldwide with 157 million in Japan alone, making it the third all-time best selling manga as of 2015, and the #1 manga series not currently publishing. The series is often credited for the "Golden Age of Jump" where the magazine's circulation was at its highest.
VIZ Media serialized the manga in English from March 1998 to March 2005 in monthly comic book anthology format; and was later collected into traditional tankobon format volumes from March 12, 2003 to June 6, 2006. To closer follow the English anime localization, the series is split; in which volumes 17-42 are titled Dragon Ball Z and renumbered as volumes 1-26. Other releases by VIZ include the large format VIZ Big Edition, kanzenban cover based 3-in-1 Edition, and a Full Color Edition of chapters 195-245. Other English publishers include Madman Entertainment in Australia/New Zealand, and the now defunct Gollancz Manga (distribution rights transferred to VIZ) in the United Kingdom. The series is also published in Spanish by Planet DeAgostini Cómics and in French by Glénat Editions.

Ryoma Echizen just joined the Seishun Academy's tennis team, which is known for being one of the most competitive teams in Japan. Its members are incredibly talented, gifted, and athletic. With rigorous and extremely intense practices, the upperclassmen of the team expect the very best from themselves and they expect even more from the new members of the team. While most of the freshmen are on pins and needles hoping they won't get cut from the team, Ryoma Echizen is confident, cool, and collected. Some might even say he's cocky, but at least he's got the skills to back up his attitude. With his virtually unreturnable "twist serve," Ryoma is sure to make the starting team.
Join Ryoma and the other first years, as they train hard, make friends, and try to find a place for themselves on the team. And meet Ryoma's cute but chronically shy classmate Sakuno Ryuzaki. She's got a big crush on Ryoma, but will he ever notice her? Ryoma Echizen is the Prince of Tennis. He may be ready for the Seishun Academy tennis team, but are THEY ready for HIM?

After being hit by a car, strange things begin to happen around Nanaki Shunsuke. He is eventually approached by another young man named Ao, who tells Nanaki that he has been sending Ao his telepathic "voice," and that the accident seems to have awakened some sort of supernatural powers within Nanaki.
Though less than enthusiastic about the idea, Nanaki eventually agrees to join LOCK, The Paranormal Investigations Agency, and partner up with Ao to investigate various cases dealing with the supernatural. However, Nanaki's powers are rather unstable, and Ao seems to have some reason to carry a great mistrust and annoyance for his new partner, making Nanaki's days in his new position a rather trying ordeal. But as they work alongside one another in their pathetically understaffed branch of LOCK, the two find ways they might manage to keep working together, perhaps even without getting the other killed in the process.

The Kouga Manjidani clan and the Iga Tsubagakure clan have been sworn enemies for centuries, with only the Hanzo Hattori truce maintaining a tenuous peace between the two ninja clans. But years later, when former shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa faces a succession dispute to determine which of his two grandsons shall become the next shogun, he decides to settle the matter through a proxy war. Selected to represent respective candidates, the Kouga and Iga clans send ten of their best fighters into a deadly battle, with the winning party deciding the rightful successor. Thus, the truce is cancelled and the ruthless bloodshed begins.
But not all approve the truce’s end. Gennosuke of Kouga and Oboro of Iga, both heirs to their respective clans, were to be married in hopes of ensuring lasting peace. However, unlike typical arranged marriages, they were already deeply in love. Whilst the rest are preparing for war, Gennosuke questions his loyalties while Oboro refuses to fight.
With a unique art style Basilisk: Kouga Ninpouchou is a compelling tale of feud and violence. Will the two clans be consumed by hatred or will love change their destinies?

Basilisk: Kouga Ninpouchou was authored by Masaki Segawa, based on the historical fantasy novel Kouga Ninpouchou , by Futaro Yamada, published in 1958, which also inspired Ninja Scroll anime. This manga was published in Japan in 2003 and 2004, by Kodansha’s “Young Magazine Uppers” magazine. Segawa used real images for the background of his manga, superimposing his hand-drawn characters over the top and each chapter was named after how many ninja were alive on each side. It won the 2004 Kodansha Manga Award for general manga. In 2005 Gonzo Studios produced an anime, very close to the manga apart from a few differences.
The entire manga was later produced into 5 volumes, which were translated by Del Ray Manga for release in the U.S.A and Canada, and by Tanoshimi in the UK. It was also released in Germany, with a german translation. A sequel series followed in 2005, titled Yagyuu Ninpouchou, also based on a novel by Futaro Yamada.
